Position Description

 

Position:  Operations Manager

 

Leads and coordinates all operations and engineering activities of the Injection Molding, CNC Machining, Urethane Casting, Finishing, Paint and Assembly Departments to assure timely and profitable delivery of completed customer projects and parts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

·       Lead all operations in all manufacturing departments.

·       Lead and oversee all department supervisors, schedules and resources.

·       Lead and develop all supervisors and engineers.

·       Develop, implement, train and review operational policies and procedures.

·       Establish and review pricing for prototype and production parts.

·       Manage and/or support new tooling, molding, production and/or NPI programs.

·       Solicit quotes for tooling and equipment as needed.

·       Meet with customers, vendors and suppliers to determine the best options for customer requests and specifications.

·       Review and provide technical feedback based on part design material selection, and intended part function, and process appropriateness and limitations.

·       Work with sales and business development to formulate and deliver quotes based on provided information and specifications.

·       Provide technical information and assistance to quality, customer service, customers, vendors/suppliers, supervisors and technicians as required.

·       Work with Quality Assurance to confirm that customer requirements and intentions are met.

·       Interface with vendors and suppliers of molds, materials, components, machinery and equipment for all matters pertaining to operations and customer requirements.

·       Research new materials, equipment and processes as required for customer needs, or to provide alternative suggestions to customers for new or unique applications.

·       Assist in design and layout for manufacturing floor space.

·       Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.

·       Recruit, interview and hire candidates.

·       Performance reviews and employee management.

·       Responsible for ISO Procedures as called out in the Quality Manual.

·       Monitor and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.

·       Support all planning of equipment and building updates as needed.

·       Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations Management preferred.

·       Five years related experience in manufacturing or engineering is preferred.

·       Strong technical expertise and experience in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.

·       Strong background with injection mold tool and part design is a must.

·       Background with Electrical Engineering and Programming is a plus.

·       Good understanding of finance, budgeting, planning and P&L

·       Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

·       Extremely well organized.

·       Excellent ability to adapt to changing, fast-paced work environment.
