Project Orion/Igniting Power is a robust, first-in-the-nation structured instructor guided and mentored professional education program concentrating on talent sourcing.  Project Orion is the culmination of three years of development by Orion Global Talent with guidance from MIT/Harvard’s successful edX program, the National Industries for the Blind/NSITE, Dartmouth’s Tuck Business School, advances in assistive technology, the acceptance of working remotely and the encouragement of hundreds of organizations and individuals along the way.  This 12-week certificate program integrates SocialTalent’s globally recognized on-line sourcing training with a 6-week mentored practicum at Bristol Myers Squibb where participants gain sourcing and recruiting experience in a corporate setting.  Orion transitioned the responsibility for the instructor guided training portion of their program to NSITE in 2022.

Recently the students in the first BMS cohort sourced and participated in the recruiting process.  The students were divided into two teams, one working on sourcing and recruiting quality engineers, the other sourcing and recruiting to develop a new national sales organization for a new BMS cell therapy division. The students sourced 500 potential candidates, narrowed the field to around 100, participated in the interview process which resulted in 18 offers being presented – all in a 5-week period from students that were just introduced to sourcing and recruiting 4 months earlier!
