JOB TITLE: Director of Operations

OVERVIEW:
As the Director of Operations, you will oversee all areas of production, with a focus on manufacturing firearms and retail parts. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure products are manufactured on schedule, meeting high-quality standards while aligning with cost objectives. By implementing effective strategies and methods, you will drive performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability across all departments and operations. Leading a dynamic team, you will forecast future needs, develop efficient plans for facilities, staffing, and material utilization, and coordinate overall manufacturing operations. As a strategic leader, you will play a key role in the site leadership team, driving change and exceeding annual goals. Your accountability extends to developing and implementing strategies that align with company objectives, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Your expertise and vision will shape the future of our client’s production operations, ensuring excellence and driving their company's success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to their team, ensuring efficient and effective production processes.
Oversee the operation and maintenance of high-tech million-dollar machining centers, guaranteeing optimal performance and quality.
Supervise the activities of a compact machine shop, prototype department, and assembly operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize productivity, quality control, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and sales, to align operations with customer demands and market trends.
Monitor production schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technology upgrades to enhance operational capabilities.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and employee engagement, promoting a positive and empowering work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 10 years of related experience.
Proven experience as an operations manager in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the firearms industry.
Strong knowledge of machining processes, including experience with machining centers.
Familiarity with customization processes and the ability to tailor products to individual shooting characteristics is highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on efficiency.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration and effective cross-departmental coordination.
A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing process improvements is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
