POSITION INFORMATION

JOB TITLE:                  CNC Swiss Turn Set-up and Operator

COMPENSATION:      Competitive based on experience

  DESCRIPTION:

·      The CNC Swiss Turn Set-Up and Operator must have experience in the set-up, operation, editing, and shop floor programming capabilities for various types of CNC milling centers from Tsugami, multi-axis Swiss style lathe to set-ups of CNC 3, 4, and 5+ Axis machines (Hass, Okuma, DMG, etc.).

 

·      The CNC Swiss Turn Set-Up and Operator must have the ability to do both complex and routine set-ups on multi-axis Swiss style lathe and CNC mills, with proven and unproven CNC programs to obtain first article on multiple machine types. They must be able to read and interpret blueprints and workpiece inspections and be able to understand both M and G codes.

 

DUTIES:

·       Set-up and run production on CNC Swiss lathe turning centers.

·       Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements.

·       Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jog borers, grinders, and shapers.

·       Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

·       Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for processes completed.

·       Support Discovery and Engineering on rapid prototyping and urgent request.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Minimum 3 years of operating CNC multi-axis Swiss lathes and milling machines including but not limited to 2,3,4, and 5 axis machines.

·       Trades training or equivalent experience,

·       Operates multiple machines simultaneously.

·       Experience with HAAS and Fanuc is a plus.

·       Performs set-ups of 3, 4, & 5+ Axis CNC machines.

·       Requires the ability to read specifications and gauges and to complete standard production documentation.

·       The ability to operate a forklift truck and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
